Napsa Stars Rescue Late Point Against FC MUZA in 1-1 Thriller

Napsa Stars drew 1-1 with FC Muza in an electrifying match played at Woodlands Stadium this afternoon. The home team had a number of chances early on, but it was the visitors, Muza FC, who opened the scoring through Steven Changala’s 20th-minute strike.

Despite creating several opportunities, Napsa Stars failed to equalize before halftime, trailing 1-0 at the break. Head Coach Sipho Mumbi made a tactical change in the second half, introducing Evans Kayombo for Daniel Adoko.

The substitution paid off as Evans Kayombo Jr scored the equalizing goal in the 88th minute, sending the home fans into jubilation. Despite the late drama, the match ended 1-1.

First Assistant Coach Lawrence M. Lubinda described the result as a hard-fought point. “The game was tough, and I’m glad we managed to get at least a point,” he said.

However, Lubinda expressed disappointment that the team has only managed to get 1 point from a possible 9 in their last three games. “We could have gotten 9 points, but we only managed 1,” he said.

Lubinda remained optimistic, saying, “This is football, we learn from our mistakes and move on. Hopefully, we will win our next games so we can qualify for the Absa Cup.”

The draw leaves Napsa Stars in 10th position on the league table with 17 points. Napsa Stars’ defense kingpin Luka Banda was voted Man of the Match.
