Napsa Stars resumed their Zambia Premier League campaign with a highly anticipated match against Atletico Lusaka, which ended in a 0-0 stalemate.
The match, played at a high intensity, saw newly acquired striker Godfrey Binga make his debut for Napsa Stars. Both teams created scoring opportunities but failed to capitalize on them.
The game’s dramatic conclusion saw Tapiwa Kamanga receive a red card in the 90th minute for a foul on Zachariah Chilongoshi. Abel Kanyamuna also received his marching orders in the 94th minute, having been shown a second yellow card.
Simon Nkhata’s outstanding performance earned him the Man of the Match award.
First Assistant Coach Lawrence M. Lubinda expressed his disappointment with the result, stating that the team had expected a win. However, he acknowledged Atletico Lusaka’s strong performance and emphasized the importance of focusing on the upcoming home game against Nkwazi FC.
The draw leaves Napsa Stars in 13th position on the Zambia Premier League table with 21 points.
