Napsa Stars were forced to settle for a 1-1 draw against Nkwazi in their Week 20 match at Woodlands Stadium, a result that left Assistant Coach Lawrence M Lubinda disappointed.
The match started on a high note for Napsa Stars, but a slight defensive lapse allowed Nkwazi’s Innocent Kashita to score in the 19th minute, giving the visitors an early lead.
Despite efforts to equalize, Napsa Stars trailed 1-0 at halftime. However, the team returned stronger in the second half, with Godfrey Binga scoring his first goal for Napsa Stars in the 59th minute to bring the game level.

Binga’s impressive performance earned him the Man of the Match award, but the draw was not enough to lift the spirits of Assistant Coach Lawrence M Lubinda.
“We are not happy with the result,” Lubinda said. “This was a must-win game, and a draw does not help us, especially considering our position on the log table.”

Lubinda attributed the improved second-half performance to tactical changes made during the break. “We played better in the second half, and we could have scored more goals,” he said.
The draw leaves Napsa Stars in 13th position on the log table with 22 points. The team will now shift their focus to their Week 21 match against Nkana in Kitwe.
As Napsa Stars prepare for their upcoming fixture, they will be looking to bounce back from this disappointing result and climb up the log table.
The match against Nkana promises to be a thrilling encounter, and Napsa Stars will need to bring their A-game if they hope to secure a crucial win.
With their sights set on a better finish to the season, Napsa Stars will be working hard to rectify their mistakes and come out stronger in their next match.
