Napsa Stars Held to Goalless Draw by Forest Rangers

Napsa Stars recorded a 0-0 draw against Forest Rangers in a tightly contested match played at Dola Hill Stadium this after The community gathered to watch the thrilling encounter, which saw both teams create scoring opportunities but ultimately fail to find the back of the net.

The first half was evenly balanced, with Forest Rangers coming closest to scoring in the 43rd minute. Their shot on goal was expertly saved by Napsa Stars goalkeeper Charles Lawu, who rebounded the ball after the initial shot was blocked. The half-time score remained level, with neither team able to break the deadlock.

Coach Sipho Mumbi made a double substitution at half-time, introducing Collins Sikombe and Rally Bwalya into the game.

The changes seemed to spark Napsa Stars into life, as they dominated play in the second half. Sikombe, Kayombe, and Rally all took shots at goal, but Forest Rangers’ defense held firm.

As the game wore on, Napsa Stars made further substitutions, with Emarson Kabwe replacing Godfrey Binga in the 71st minute and Keegan Zulu coming on for Evans Kayombo Jr. in the 75th minute.

Newly signed Central Defender Abeli Safari also made his debut, replacing the injured Mala Makubuli in the 81st minute.

Despite their best efforts, Napsa Stars were unable to find the winning goal, and the match ended in a 0-0 draw.

Coach Sipho Mumbi expressed his disappointment at the result, saying, “We missed so many chances which we could have utilized, especially in the second half. But away, we will take the point.”

The draw sees Napsa Stars drop to 11th position in the Zambian Premier League table with 34 points. Their next match is against Zanaco FC at Woodlands Stadium on Thursday, March 13th, 2025.
