NAPSA Stars Football Club Head Coach Mohamed Fathi says he is happy with the performance displayed by Napsa Stars FC players who featured for their various national teams.
Zambian Collins Sikombe and Luka Banda were part of coach Micho’s team that played four friendly games against Malawi, Kenya, South African and Orlando Pirates FC, and scored a goal each from this outing.
Kenyan striker Timothy Otieno was also called to be part of the team that played and beat Zambia 2-1. Otieno came in as substitute in this match.
Elsewhere, defender Dennis Dauda was an unused substitute in a game Zimbabwe drew 0-0 against Malawi.
Coach Fathi has expressed his excitement over this development, saying this is good for both the players and the club.
“This means the hard work by these gents is being noticed. I am even happier to see that two of the players contributed to the scoresheet.
“Just being called to be part of the national team itself is something positive and to be proud of. And I know those that were not used and those that could not make the cut like Luka Nguni will push even harder to get another call up,” Coach Fathi said.
The four have since returned and expected to join the rest of the team in training this afternoon and tomorrow.
