NAPSA Stars Football Club Head Coach Perry Mutapa says he is not worried that his team has gone three games without recording a victory.
The Coach was speaking after his team’s one all draw with FC MUZA in their week-23 match of the MTN Super League played at Nakambala Stadium in Mazabuka last Saturday.
The coach said his boys have been putting up a great performance in the last three matches despite not winning games.
NAPSA Stars went four games straight recording victories but have now gone three games recording two draws and one loss, with the latest result being a draw.
“I am not worried, the boys have been putting up a spirited fight and I know we will soon record a victory,
We have played tough teams in the last three matches, it has not been easy, but the boys have done so well so I am not worried,” Coach Perry said.
It was NAPSA Stars FC that issued their first threat with Musonda Kapembwa taking his effort slightly wide after receiving a cut back from Jimmy Mukeya.
The hosts’ response came in the 44th minute with Mwiyaya Mwiyaya’s effort being denied by Mukwanya.
In the 54th minute, MUZA scored their goal through Gift Simanansa who scored from a direct free kick.
The host had a chance to extend their lead in the 66th minute but Chipo Sondashi wasted his effort after beating NAPSA Stars defense.
The Pensioners missed a couple of chances to equalize until the 84th minute when Fredrick Mwimanzi headed in a Austin Banda well taken corner kick to set the game at equal.
In the 88th minute, Mukwanya denied MUZA another goal with a superb save to stop Bobo Kidimbu’s well taken free kick.
There was however a dramatic ending to the match which saw NAPSA Stars goal scorer Fredrick Mwimanzi being shown a second yellow card and get sent off.
The draw saw NAPSA Stars maintain seventh place on the log with 32 points after 23 games played.
NAPSA Stars’ next fixture is against ZESCO United FC on Sunday as they meet for a week-24 match of the MTN Super League.
