Coach Perry Mutapa has previewed his team’s week-25 match to be played tomorrow against Kansanshi Dynamos FC in a Pre-match Zoom meeting held with the media this morning.
Here are the coach’s expectations for this match set for Heroes Stadium tomorrow.
You host Kansanshi Dynamos FC tomorrow, with the draw recorded in the first round, what are your expectations going into tomorrow’s match?
The barren draw in Kansanshi won’t hold anything because this is now the second round and games are flying. After this we will have nine games remaining, so it won’t be an easy game.
In the last six or seven games Kansanshi have only managed to beat Nkwazi if I am correct, but we have also not done well this month so it’s a match where both teams need maximum points.
Are you under any pressure to deliver a positive result and does being at home give you an advantage knowing that Kansanshi are wounded coming back-to-back losses?
Pressure will always be part of the game, but we will take it positively and not negatively because we want to win. Two draws and two losses in the last four matches is not good for us and obviously playing at home, we would like to get a positive result.
The second round of the league is always competitive with teams pushing for either survival or chasing for the title, what message do you have for your players at this stage knowing it’s not safe losing points?
Every team has its own target and for us, as at now, we just want to beat the relegation mark and if we do that then we can set another target. So for now we just have to pick up more points so that come the last games of the season, we are not be fighting relegation and that’s our target.
You are back playing at Heroes Stadium, what’s the message to the fans and any injury concerns in the team?
Injury concerns, none,
Playing at Heroes is obviously exciting, our home ground where we have picked a lot of points because the playing surface suits our style of play. Even the boys know that when we are at Heroes, we must give our best and results do come. So even tomorrow we expect to give our best.
