Napsa Stars Hold Nchanga Rangers to Goalless Draw

Napsa Stars secured a hard-fought draw against Nchanga Rangers in a Week 23 fixture played at Nchanga Stadium in Chingola. The match started on a high note with the home team pushing for an early lead, but Napsa Stars’ defense held firm to contain the pressure.

As the first half progressed, Napsa Stars began to settle into the game, but neither team could find the breakthrough and the half-time score remained 0-0, with both teams creating few clear-cut chances.

The second half saw Napsa Stars take the initiative, creating several scoring opportunities. However, the team’s finishing let them down, and they were unable to capitalize on their dominance.

Despite the lack of goals, the match was an intense and physical encounter, with both teams giving their all. In the end, the teams had to settle for a share of the spoils, with the final score remaining 0-0.

Napsa Stars Head Coach Sipho Mumbi expressed his satisfaction with the draw, stating that a point away from home was a decent result.

“Playing an experienced team like Nchanga Rangers is never easy, but I’m proud of the boys for containing the home team,” he said.

Coach Mumbi also lamented the poor state of the pitch, which he felt had disrupted his team’s play. “The pitch was terrible after the rain, and it made it difficult for us to play our usual game,” he noted.

Meanwhile, Coach Mumbi was impressed with the performance of goalkeeper Charles Lawu, who earned the Man of the Match Award. Lawu’s outstanding display was a key factor in the team’s ability to secure a draw against Nchanga Rangers.

“Lawu has been exceptional, he has been consistent in training and I am glad that he is performing well,” Coach Mumbi said.
