NAPSA Stars Football Club Head Coach Perry Mutapa has urged his boys to keep the focus and take each game as it comes.
Mutapa was reacting after his team’s 1 nil victory over Police College on Saturday in their week-14 of the Eden National Division One League.
This victory over Police College saw NAPSA Stars maintain their five-point lead on the log with 30 points after winning nine games in total out of the 14 games played.
The Pensioners have three more games to conclude the first round which will see the team take part in the prestigious ABSA Cup competition if they finish the round in the top two position.
Coach Mutapa has stressed that the aim for this first round is to play ABSA cup, but the team will not get carried away with the victories, but will work harder in each game.
“We take the three points and it is a good victory for us. Our aim is to play ABSA but this is football we should not get carried away just because we are on top, we need to keep pushing,” Coach Perry added.
The Coach was also impressed with his team’s performance despite scoring only one goal in that match.
“We looked organized, performance was good and we created chances. We controlled the game and that was good for us,” The Coach added.
It was Captain of the side Luka Banda that scored the only goal of the match in the 45th minute to see NAPSA bag the three points.
