PENSIONERS BOUNCE BACK TO THE SUPER LEAGUE

NAPSA Stars Football Club has bounced back to the FAZ MTN Super League after a season of being in the Eden National Division One League.

The Pensioners qualified after beating North Western side Trident FC in their week-33 fixture played at Sentinel Ground in Kalumbila with a 2-0 score line.

The Pensioners who were the third team to book their Super League slot, with a game to spare, have qualified with 60 points after 33 games played.

The team has won 17 games, drawn nine and lost seven.

Coach Perry has expressed excitement with this qualification, saying the Eden National Division One League has not been an easy journey for his side.

And in Saturday’s match, it was Bornwell Silengo and Daniel Adoko who scored again at the same stadium for the Pensioners, with the first time being in a match played against Quattro FC.

Silengo broke the deadlock in the 4th minute to give the Pensioners hope of qualification. And 11 minutes after that, Daniel Adoko was quick to add a second goal for the visiting team.

Coach Perry made four substitutes in this match introducing Thomas Banda for Jimmy Mukeya, Chanda Mushili for Chaniza Zulu for Joseph Lungu for Musond Kapembwa and Luka Nguni for Daniel Adoko

The gaffer has urged his boys to stay focused ahead of this weekend’s ABSA Cup final match against Red Arrows FC.

“We wanted to achieve this objective of qualifying to the super league so that we can have full concentration for the ABSA Cup. We are playing a team that is doing well so it will not be easy,” Coach Perry adds.

Meanwhile the Pensioner’s last league match of the Eden National Division One League will be against Gomes FC in Ndola.
