PENSIONERS FACE A ‘BRAVE’ TEST THIS AFTERNOON AT NCHANGA STADIUM

NAPSA Stars football club will be looking at maintaining momentum as they visit ‘Brave’ Nchanga Rangers FC this afternoon in their week-nine fixture of the Eden National Division One League.

The Perry Mutapa coached side has gone seven games unbeaten in the league and will be looking at bagging another three points to maintain this momentum.

The pensioners are coming from a home win against Livingstone Pirates FC with a Musonda Kapembwa goal scored through a penalty awarded to NAPSA Stars after Austin Banda was fouled inside the box.

And NAPSA Stars will be returning to Nchanga Stadium after last visiting in 2017 under coach Tenant Chumba, when the two teams played in the Super League with that match ending 1-0 in favor of NAPSA Stars FC.

Team news

Coach Mutapa has drilled his strong 18-man squad that travelled to Chingola yesterday, October 29, 2021, to take on the task this afternoon.

Team doctor Jacob Phiri has ruled out all injury concerns in the team with a report that all players are fit to take part in today’s match.

Key players

Coach Perry has not made major changers to his winning team but striker Thomas Banda has returned after serving his one game suspension.

It is clearer that all players are key to Coach Mutapa who has evidently been selecting his starting 11 based on performance both in training and league matches.

Luka Nguni missed out from the last match played against Livingstone Pirates and is also likely to miss out from today’s match against Nchanga Rangers.

Going into week-nine

And going into this match, the Pensioners are lying second on the log with 17 points from five games won, two drawn and one game lost.  Nchanga on the other hand has 10 points from the 10 games played having won two, drawn four and lost two.

The match starts at 15h00 at Nchanga Stadium.
