PENSIONERS GET A POINT AT SHINDE STADIUM TO MAINTAIN FIVE POINTS LEAD …

Pensioners maintained their five points lead on the log after an all square result recorded at Mufulira’s Shinde Stadium in a week-13 Eden National Division One fixture.

It was Thomas Banda who issued a first threat to the host team after his effort to get NAPSA Stars FC an early goal was denied by Wanderers Goalkeeper just in the first minute.

Wanderer’s response to this came in the 6th minute with a great shot in close range which was denied by the Pensioner’s in form goalkeeper Rodwell Mukwanya.

The first half ended with no other clear-cut chances from both teams until the second half which saw a more charged up Pensioner’s side.

Despite all efforts to get a goal, the game ended 0-0 to see both teams share spoils.

Coach Perry made a few changes to his team introducing attacking midfielder Enock Sabumukama for defensive midfielder Chanda Mushili.

Jimmy Mukeya was also introduced for Musonda Kapembwa while Austine Banda was rested for Eric Yema.

Despite these changes, the Pensioners still struggled to get a win at Shinde Stadium with Coach Perry acknowledging that his boys did not have their usual passing game.

He added that his team was playing a relegation threated team and did not anticipate an easy match.

“We told our players that it will be a cup final and it was, but we have gotten some points and we will improve in the next game, “Coach Perry added.
