PENSIONERS HOST TRIDENT AT WOODLANDS STADIUM THIS AFTERNOON.

NAPSA Stars Football Club return to Woodlands Stadium this afternoon as they host Trident FC in their week-16 match of the Eden National Division One League.

Coach Perry is expectant and has declared his charges ready for this match which will serve as curtain raiser for a super League match being played against GBFC and Buildcon FC at 15h00, at the same venue.

NAPSA Stars will be going into this match with 31 points after 15 games played, and looking at clinching their ABSA Cup qualification if they pick up a point or three after 90 minutes.

Coach Mutapa has said in his pre-match interview that he is happy to be returning to the team’s home ground where his players enjoy a free flow style of playing.

The Coach says he expects maximum points especially coming from a draw against Young Green Eagles FC in their week-15 match played in Kafue on Wednesday.

“It’s a big game, but I expect the boys to rise to the occasion and collect maximum points,” Coach Perry adds.

The Pensioners have gone six games unbeaten since their week-nine fixture, recording four victories and two draws.

TEAM NEWS

The Head Coach Perry Mutapa has drilled his strong 18-man squad that will be taking on Trident FC at Woodlands Stadium today.

Coach Perry has not made major changes to his team that played against Young Green Eagles last week.

Rodwell Mukwanya has been exceptional in goal and favorite to start in today’s match. Captain Luka Banda has also been on top of his game and expected to head his usual defense comprising of David Odhiambo, Luka Nguni and Gift Zulu.

The fans will need to wait and see how Coach Perry will set up his midfield looking at the two changes that occurred in the last game where the coach started Chanda Mushili and Kennan Phiri in place of Austin Banda ana Musonda Kapembwa.

Jimmy Mukeya is still out of the team after being given some days off owing to a family bereavement. Thomas Banda will still be expected to head the striking force.

BOTH TEAMS

This is the first meet-up for the two teams with NAPSA Coming from the Super League.

Both teams are coming from recording draws in their previous fixtures. The Pensioners are coming from recording a 1 all draw against Young Green Eagles FC, while Trident went through a barren draw against Kabwe Youth Soccer Academy.

NAPSA Stars FC is lying fourth on the log with 31 points after nine games won, four drawn and two lost while Trident FC is fourth on the log after five victories, nine draws and one loss.

The match is set for 13h00 at Woodlands Stadium with gate charges set for K20 Open wing, K50 Grandstand and K100 VIP.
