THE Pensioners are back at their home ground, Heroes Stadium for their week-4 of the MTN Super League as the Perry Mutapa-coached side host Green Eagles FC.
It’s not going to be an easy day for NAPSA Stars who are looking at winning today’s match to put smiles on the faces of their new home fans, but will have to put in a lot looking at how the team is yet to record a victory.
The Pensioners are coming from recording a loss in their last match when they visited Lumwana Radiants in their week-three match losing by a goal to nil in that match.
The Perry Mutapa-coached side is also yet to score a goal in the league this season, but this has not entirely worried the gaffer who stresses that he is positive the goals will come especially with how the team is creating chances.
Coach Perry says in his pre-match interview that he is very optimistic today, but stresses that he does not have to press panic button on his players.
“But of course we need this so we should turn the corners today and win. In football pressure will always be there, it’s part of the game and it’s how you handle it,” Responds coach Perry when asked if his side is under pressure to get a win today.
And going into today’s match, NAPSA Stars has two points from two matches drawn. The team has lost one match and will be looking at recording a victory in today’s match.
MATCH OVERVIEW AND TEAM FORM
NAPSA Stars are going into this match desperately looking for their first victory of the season having recorded only two draws and lost one match.
The last result has however also stretched their winless run to three matches, having failed to score a goal since the start of the season.
Green Eagles on the other hand, are coming from recording a victory in their last match played against Power Dynamos FC.
The Choma outfit has two victories to their name, and one loss going into today’s match which is set for Heroes Stadium.
The two teams last met in 2020 when NAPSA Stars played in the Super Division. Eagles beat Eagles by two goals to two in that match.

NAPSA Stars FC will have to continue without injured David Odhiambo who will be missing his third match this afternoon. Odhiambo suffered an ankle sprain in the first league match.

Rodwell Mukwanya (NAPSA Stars FC)- The goalkeeper has been on his best form this season so far having only conceded an own goal in the last three matches.
Luka Banda (NAPSA Stars) – The team captain is likely to be available in today’s match again to provide leadership on the field of play.
Daniel Adoko (NAPSA Stars)– Despite scoring an own goal in the last match, Adoko has been an exceptional member of Coach Perry’s squad and will be expected to continue with his fine form if featured in today’s match.
Dickson Chapa (NAPSA Stars) – Chapa who has returned from his Zesco United FC after spending a season there and is likely to feature in today’s match after having an impressive performance in the first two matches. Chapa was rested in the last match as he was nursing a knock.
Hossia Silwimba (Green Eagles) – Been an instrumental player to the Green Eagles side.
Warren Kunda (Green Eagles)- An exceptional defender likely to feature and show his experience on the pitch.
