NAPSA Stars Head Coach Perry Mutapa has described his team’s 1-2 loss to Zanaco FC as disappointing.
Coach Perry said what was more disappointing was losing to the same team twice. In the 2020/21 season, Zanaco managed to pick a double win against the pensioners.
The head coach said this season was a learning curve for his side especially coming from National Division One and that he was confident would remain in the top flight.
“We had a better game but I am not happy losing to Zanaco. It’s a very disappointing result for us especially after playing well,” Coach Perry said.
The visitors took the lead in the 14th minute through a Moussa Souleymanou header which he pounced on a rebound to slot it in the net.
The Pensioners tried to respond in the 26th minute through Daniel Adoko who missed a chance to equalize after missing a shot benefiting from a Gift Zulu cross.
Finally Napsa equalized in the 34th minute through Keagan Zulu who headed in from an Augustine Mulenga well taken corner kick .
In the 50th minute, Daniel Adoko missed another great chance after he selfishly took a shot which went wide when he had an option of passing the ball to either Musonda Kapembwa or Augustin Lungu.
Another chance came for the visitors in the 76 minute through Francis Mushata who missed a good chance after being set up by Charles Zulu.
In the 80th minute Zanaco restored their lead through super substitute Tshite Mweshi header.
Zanaco Head coach Kelvin Kaindu said the win against Napsa Stars has come as a relief after a string of poor results.
Today’s loss has seen the Pensioners drop from sixth position to eighth on the log maintaining 16 points.
