THE 2022/23 MTN Super League resumes for the NAPSA Stars as they host defending Champions Red Arrows this afternoon in a week-18 fixture to mark the start of the second round of matches.
Having beaten Prison Leopards 4-1 in their last game before the break, NAPSA Stars look to be heading into this game as favorites with that momentum, while Red Arrows will go into this game limping after being thrashed by Kitwe giants Power Dynamos 4-0 in their last game.
Going into this fixture, only four points separate the two teams. In their first 17 games, the Pensioners have managed to accumulate 21 points taking them to 11th position on the log while the ‘Air Men’ have collected 27 points sitting fifth on the table.
Having recorded a barren draw in their last league game when NAPSA visited Arrows, both teams will seemingly want to change things and get maximum points.
NAPSA Stars has enjoyed playing at home recently, with the side currently unbeaten in two games.
The much-anticipated mouth watery encounter to be displayed at the National Heroes Stadium is regarded as one of the most iconic Super League games, as it will witness retired legendary referee Janny Sikazwe officiate his last match.
TEAM NEWS
From the Pre-match interview held yesterday, not much is expected from the two teams in terms of new players joining the club.
However, Arrows had earlier this morning announced the addition of three technical bench members to boost their squad.
Meanwhile, both teams have however been boosted by the return of players who were injured before the break and have had enough time to recover.
HEAD TO HEAD
NAPSA Stars has only won one game in their last eight meetings, during the 2022 ABSA Cup final, with the two teams battling to draws four times and Arrows dominating three times.
