NAPSA STARS Football Club can confirm that the Club will use National Heroes Stadium for the 2022/2023 season.
Club Chief Executive Officer Ponga Liwewe confirmed this development to NAPSA Stars media saying the Pensioners will play their first home game a Heroes this Saturday against Nkwazi FC.
The Club CEO says that the Club has picked on National Heroes Stadium because the Stadium has a perfect playing surface which is big enough, especially for the type of football the team plays.
He also adds that he believes the Stadium will give NAPSA Stars more commercial options in terms of advertising, especially looking at how the Club has put commercial growth as one of the key areas in its quest for revenue generation.
The Pensioners had, before this development, been using Woodlands Stadium for its home matches since the 2019 Transitional League season.
“We want to wean ourselves off the mother company and generate our own revenue. But we are also looking at the huge population in that sector and we know a lot of people in that area need a team like NAPSA Stars to keep them entertained,” Ponga adds.
The CEO has appealed to football fans, especially in that surrounding area, to support the team as it settles in its new home stadium.
Ponga also adds that the decision was made in full support of the technical bench and the rest of the team.
“We had a chat with the team and everyone is excited about this development. Now we just call on our current and potential supporters to rally behind us even at this new home stadium,” The CEO says.
