PENSIONERS VISIT LUMWANA FOR A WEEK-29 FIXTURE THIS AFTERNOON

The Eden National Division One League fans have an interesting fixture to look out for this afternoon when third placed NAPSA Stars Football Club visit in-form Lumwana Radiants FC at Lumwana Ground.

The two sides are separated by four points with Lumwana leading with 54 points while NAPSA Stars have 50 points with both teams having played 28 matches so far.

NAPSA Stars have been in North Western Province since Monday having played their first match against Quattro last Wednesday and awaiting today’s match against Lumwana.

Coach Perry Mutapa will be looking for nothing but victory today especially looking at how tight the top five teams are making the contest for Super League promotion.

A victory in today’s match will see NAPSA Stars still maintain third position, but will close up on both Lumwana and FC MUZA by a point. Both MUZA and Lumwana have 54 points after 28 games played.

Meanwhile, the two teams are both coming from being relegated from the Super Division and both fighting to make a quick return to Zambia’s elite league.

In the first round of the season, the Pensioners beat Lumwana by a goal to nil in a match which was played at Edwin Imboela Stadium in Lusaka.

It was former Lumwana Radiants player Musonda Kapembwa that punished his former team by scoring the only goal of that match.

And in his pre-match interview, Musonda said he is looking forward to having another exciting match against his former club and hopefully get another goal.

“I did not celebrate when I scored in the first round so I would so much love to do that today,” the hopeful midfielder said.

The Pensioners will have three players who were in the books of Lumwana Radiants and likely to feature in Coach Perry’s squad this afternoon with the other two being Chaniza Zulu and Simon Nkhata.
