As NAPSA Stars FC is scheduled to visit Nkwazi FC tomorrow at Edwin Imboela Stadium for a week-19 match, both Coach Perry Mutapa and his brother and Nkwazi counterpart Oswald Mutapa have previewed this match in a pre-match press briefing held via zoom with the media yesterday.
Expectations from this match;
Coach Perry Mutapa: It is going to be a tough match. Nkwazi is not a team which allows a lot of goals. They are from holding Power Dynamos at home. They are coming into this game with confidence, they are at home so they would like to pick up all the three points but equally us, we are coming from a win, we are not safe where we are so it will be a great game but it will be tough for both teams.
Coach Oswald Mutapa: NAPSA is coming from a win, we are coming from a draw away from home against the League leaders. We need points more than any other team. We are second from the bottom. We are playing at home and we know NAPSA Stars are coming from their previous game with confidence. It will not be an easy game but all games are tough, we will definitely fight to get maximum points.
Q. You are known to be very lively on the touchline sometimes you engage in a few mind games here and there, does that change your approach now that you are facing your elder brother? Do we get to see a different coach Perry?
Coach Perry Mutapa: I will always be the same person, we are brothers yes, but we are going to be opponents on Sunday so it does not change anything like he has said. I think football will be won on the pitch. It is 11 against 11. Of course, he has done his work, I have done my work. So, whatever I do on the touchline that is the way I am. Maybe we are different people, maybe I am too involved in football it is just like that. It does not change anything. It is 11 against 11 and may the best team win on Sunday.
Coach Oswald Mutapa: Not really, whether he is emotional on the touchline I am cool guy, it does not happen like that. This is Football, you are emotional the other guy is not emotional. But that is part of the game. For me this issue of brother is not a problem. It is Nkwazi against NAPSA and the two teams will play, 11 against 11. The team that plays football very well on match day will carry the day.
Q. You had a good game against Power on Saturday. You are playing NAPSA side that has not been consistent this season. Sometimes they win sometimes they lose. How do you describe the approach you will use?
Coach Oswald Mutapa: We picked up the pieces in training from the last game we played. We know we are playing NAPSA. They might have that swing of failing to win. But it is how you prepare tactics. Dropping into the relegation is not what we wanted but as the league is going, we will give it our all.
Q. You had a big win at the weekend against Red Arrow and some people might not have expected that win. But as players, how have you trained this so that that win against Arrows does not get over you as you face Nkwazi.
Sydney Kalume: We train the same for any other game. We do not change. Every team in the premier league is very important. So, we train and prepare adequately for every match.
Q. Injury Concerns for both teams?:
Coach Oswald Mutapa: We have no injury concerns in our squad, and everyone is ready.
Coach Perry Mutapa: From our side, the team is fit. There are players like David Odhiambo who is coming from injury. He has done so well this but will not be up for selection for this game.
The match is scheduled for Edwin Imboela Stadium in Lusaka tomorrow at 15hours.
