AS Napsa Stars prepares for their biggest game of their lives, NAPSA director general Yollard Kachinda is urging the team to put in their best and emerge champions of the 2019/20 MTN-FAZ Super League.

Napsa face Forest Rangers in Kitwe and need maximum points to win their maiden Super League title.

“I wish to urge the players on the pitch to play their lungs out, remain focused and determined as we are striving to ensure that NAPSA Stars finds its space in the history of Zambian football,” Kachinda said in a press query.

Kachinda said he was excited that the team had reached thus far and where contesting for the top slot.

“The current performance is testimony enough of the team’s efforts and ability to meet the set target of winning the league and playing continental football,” he said.

Kachinda said management would render its full support to the team and expressed confidence that the lads would emerge victorious.

“The team qualifying to continental games will give an opportunity to the team to fly the NAPSA brand across the continent as well as possible exposure of our players to high level football,” he said.

He said the team performance had been impressive despite challenges of the outbreak of the COVID-19 which has affected football activities across the world.

“The Zambian league has not been an exception. Despite the league going on recess, most teams NAPSA Stars inclusive, have exhibited the highest level of professionalism and technical understanding of the game thereby cementing Zambia as one of the top ranked league on the continent, “he said

Kachinda said the team has been motivated by their appetite to play continental after having missed out by an inch last season.

He further commended FAZ for taking the bold step to prematurely end the league in the view of the increased number of COVID-19 positive cases.

“I further commend the team for ensuring that all the guideline as prescribed by the Ministry of Health are adhered to in order to stop the spread of the corona virus. As a team we ideally would have loved to finish all the remaining games.

“It’s however important to note that NAPSA Stars attaches great importance to the health and safety of the players; hence our continued support to the sudden closure of the 2019/2020 MTN Super League on account of the pandemic, “he said.
