PENSIONERS IN SEARCH FOR VICTORY AS THEY HOST CHAMBISHI

NAPSA Stars Football Club will be looking at redeeming themselves this afternoon as they host Chambishi FC in a week-13 match of the MTN Super League.

The Pensioners have had a rough patch in the recent matches, drawing one and losing two games to see them drop from fourth to 12th position.

But Head Coach Perry Mutapa is hopeful that the team will soon start collecting points, especially with today’s match being a home match.

NAPSA Stars has had a good home record, losing only one match which was played at Nkoloma Stadium.  The last time NAPSA Stars played at Heroes was in their week-10 match when the team hosted and beat Kabwe Warriors by a goal to nil. .

With five match days before the competition goes on a break, there is all to play for as NAPSA Stars pushes to defend their ABSA Cup trophy if they finish the first half in top six.

In his pre-match interview yesterday, Coach Perry mentioned how important this match is for his side that is trying to finish on a good position at the end of the first half.

The Coach is fully aware of how troublesome Chambishi can be, and has stressed on how much the opponent should not be underrated by his side.

“They’ve beaten teams like Nkana and Green Eagles at home. Eagles are not easy to beat at home, so it means which should not underrate them,” Coach Perry adds.

NAPSA Stars have not won a match since their week-10 match.

The Perry Mutapa-coached side has also only scored one goal in their last three games which saw them record one draw and two losses.

NAPSA Stars are 12th on the log after 12 games played. The team has recorded four victories, four draws and four losses.

Chambishi on the other hand are third from bottom after 12 games played with three victories, one draw and eight losses.
