A LATE EQUALIZER DENIES NAPSA THEIR FIRST AWAY VICTORY

NAPSA Stars Football Club were denied their first victory on the road by Nchanga Rangers in their match week-14 of the MTN Super League after a 1all draw result.

The Pensioners dominated both halves with a clear mandate to bag all the three points, but were denied this opportunity with a late equalizer.

Coach Perry Mutapa has continued to heap praise on his boys saying he is glad with his team recording a point today saying it’s a step in the right direction.

NAPSA Stars have failed to win in their last four matches with today’s result seeing them get a point from the last three matches which had ended in losses.

“Obviously not happy because this was our game. A late equalizer has costed us but I’m happy with how the boys played. The fact that we have not lost today after three straight losses is a positive for us going forward,” Coach Perry adds.

The Host started the match on a high note, signaling threats as early as 1st minute with Christian Salie shot being blocked my Fredrick Mwimanzi.

The host kept pushing for a goal but could not shot on target until the 16th minute when NAPSA Stars responded with a Dickson Chapa shot  which went inches wide.

In the 18th minute, Saili again came with a great cross trying to connect it to Ronald Chibwe, but Mwimanzi was way ahead of him to clear the ball for a corner.

Finally a goal came for NAPSA Stars through Musonda kapembwa who put in a beautiful header after benefiting from Gift Zulu’s well taken cross.

The match did not leave out some drama with NAPSA Stars head Coach Perry Mutapa being sent off just at half time by referee Kelvin Musonda after an altercation with the fourth official.

The second half started and it was NAPSA Stars that began the match on a high with a few chances being missed to see them fail to extend their lead.

In the 57th minute, the host missed two quick sitters through Angel Lubamba and Kunda Nkandu. Lubamba shot his effort inches wide while Nkandu’s shot was parried off by Jackson Kakunta.

Finally the host equalized through Christian Saile in the 86th minute to end the Pensioner’s hopes of recording their first win away.

The draw recorded today sees NAPSA Stars two steps up the log on 10th position from 12th.
