HIGH FIVE – Pensioners put 5 past Buildcon to move to sixth on the log

NAPSA Stars Football Club displayed a mouth-watering performance on Saturday beating Buildcon FC by five goals to nil in a week-27 match of the MTN Super League.

The victory over Buildcon has seen the Perry Mutapa-drilled side move from eighth to sixth position on the log with 39points after 27 games played.

NAPSA Stars has also moved close to the second played Green Buffaloes who have 44 points from the 27 games played.

In a post-match interview, coach Perry said he was happy with the victory, but thought his side could have scored more goals in this match.

The Coach who is still insisting his team has a lot of work to do especially in terms of beating the relegation mark, also added that his side gave too much room to Buildcon before the goals started coming in.

Ghanaian striker Zikiru Adams started in the first 11 for the first time since joining NAPSA Stars FC in week-25 when the team drew 0-0 against Kansanshi Dynamos FC to score his first for the Club.

Zikiru opened his scoring card for NAPSA Stars and scored his first for the team in this match when he benefited from Chaniza Zulu’s pass to excellently shoot in close range.

Musonda Kapembwa doubled the Pensioners lead in the 35th minute, scoring in close range from a Boster Siyoma cut back.

In the 52nd minute, Adams scored his second goal and the third one for NAPSA Stars after benefiting from a defense error.

Another goal came in the 72nd minute with Musonda Kapembwa completing his brace after he was brought down inside the box by Buildcon goalkeeper. Musonda stepped up to take the penalty and scored his 9th goal for NAPSA Stars this season.

The fifth goal came in the 87th minute through Aaron Kabwe who was introduced in the 78th minute to replace Daniel Adoko.

Kabwe who was playing his first game for NAPSA Stars this season benefited from a Fredrick Mwimanzi pass to shoot near the edge of the 18yard box.

The victory over Buildcon has seen NAPSA win both their games of the month of March, after going through a bad patch in February.

The Pensioners’ next match is in April against Zanaco FC at Sunset Stadium.
