NAPSA AND KANSANSHI SHARE SPOILS AGAIN!

NAPSA Stars Football Club fail to record a victory again in the week-25 match played on Saturday at Heroes National Stadium.

The Perry-Mutapa drilled side drew 0-0 with Kansanshi Dynamos to see the team drop from eighth to 10th position on the log.

The Pensioners finished the game a man short after defensive midfielder Dickson Chapa was given his marching orders in the 67th minute causing NAPSA Stars to finish the match with 10men.

It was the visitors that had their first shot on target in the 11th minute when Jesse Were’s shot was parried off by Mukwanya to deny the Kenyan from scoring.

Another chance was presented to the visitors in the 17th minute with Baba Basile failing to press the ball but instead took it wide.

Two minutes after this, the host responded with Austin Banda shooting in close range only to have his effort taken wide.

In the 26th minute, Luka Banda who was also voted fans Player of the Match, missed a golden opportunity to put NAPSA Stars in the lead when his header bounced off to go wide.

Further chances fell at both ends, but both teams failed to capitalize on their chances to end up sharing spoils just like the first half of the season.

The match also saw Ghanaian Zikiru Adams make his debut for NAPSA Stars after being introduced in the 70th minute to replace Augustine Mulenga.

And in a post-match interview, Coach Perry described the game as tough but was quick to express his happiness with his team’s performance especially after playing with a man short.

“Congratulations to both teams for displaying such a great game. A draw from a loss, not a bad result for us, “ Coach Perry said.

And Kansanshi Head Coach Boyd Mulwanda said he expected a tough game and a goal away from home was not a bad result for his side.

The Pensioners will visit Kabwe Warriors in their next fixture to be played this Saturday.
