NAPSA FACE ZESCO AT NKANA STADIUM THIS AFTERNOON

NAPSA Stars Football Club make their way to Nkana Stadium in Kitwe this afternoon for their week-24 match of the MTN Super League to take on Ndola outfit ZESCO United FC.

This match is being played at Nkana Stadium because Levy Mwanawasa Stadium, home of ZESCO United, has been reserved for CAF Interclub competition by a Congolese side.

The Perry Mutapa troops look all set for this match after arriving on the Copperbelt yesterday ahead of today’s match.

The Pensioners head into this clash coming from recording a draw against FC MUZA in another match on the road.

NAPSA Stars have not been so lucky playing away with most results being either a draw or loss.

But Coach Perry is hopeful for today’s match and has travelled to the Copperbelt with his strong 20-man squad ready to take on ZESCO United.

ZESCO United on the other hand, have a new technical bench comprising of former NAPSA Stars FC Technical Director Honor Janza who joined the Ndola outfit tasked with the similar role.

The team also has George Lwandamina recalled as head coach and being assisted by Tenant Chilumba who last plied his trade with Nkwazi FC.

Today’s match makes an interesting one seeing how NAPSA Stars managed to beat ZESCO United by 2goals to 1 in the first half of the season.

ZESCO United are also coming from recording a draw in their previous match as they head into this match.

A point separates these two sides with NAPSA Stars sitting seventh on the log with 32 points, while ZESCO United are positioned 11th with 31 points.

Ndola’s ZESCO United boast the perfect record against their Lusaka counterparts as they head into this match.

In their 10 encounters to date, NAPSA Stars have won three times while ZESCO United have enjoyed five victories over NAPSA Stars. The other two encounters have ended in draws.

The Pensioners however beat ZESCO United by 2goals to 1 in their last meeting at the Heroes National Stadium.

They have an opportunity to complete a second league double over the host, following their 2-1 victory which saw Augustine Mulenga and Musonda Kapembwa score for NAPSA Stars.
