NAPSA HOST WOUNDED ZESCO UNITED AT HEROES THIS AFTERNOON

NAPSA Stars Football Club is set for a midweek action this afternoon as they play host to Ndola giants Zesco United in a rescheduled week-seven of the MTN Super League.

The Pensioners will be hoping to excite their home fans once again looking at how the Perry Mutapa-coached side is yet to record a loss at Heroes Stadium with the previous results being a draw and two victories.

And Coach Perry Mutapa has warned his boys to take today’s game with all the seriousness it deserves looking at the caliber of team they will be facing.

The last time these two teams met was in the 2020/2022 season when the first half ended in a 1all draw, while the second half saw ZESCO United beat NAPSA Stars by two goals to nil.

But the Pensioners will also be comforted by the fact that the last time they faced ZESCO at Heroes Stadium saw them win by a goal to nil via a Collins Sikombe goal.

MATCH OVERVIEW AND FORM GUIDE

NAPSA Stars are coming into this match having recorded a draw away to Kansanshi in their previous match.

This was despite recording their second and biggest win in the league so far which saw the team beat MUZA by three goals to nil.

ZESCO United on the other hand are coming from being eliminated from their CAF Confederation cup competition.

But coach Perry has stressed that this will not be an easy side to face looking at the current happenings at the club.

“ZESCO is more dangerous now and we have to be very careful. They do not have a coach and they will want to push and prove something, but we are also at home so we will push,” Coach Perry adds.

And NAPSA Stars FC central Defender David Odhiambo will be going against his former club but has stressed that he will have no pressure heading into this match.

“I don’t think it will be difficult because this is work for me. I was there, I did my part, but now I am with NAPSA Stars so I have to give my best here and try to achieve something with the club. So tomorrow’s game will be a game just like any other game and we will try to give our best,” stresses Odhiambo.

Both sides head into the fixture having collected a single point apiece in their most recent outings and will be looking at collecting maximum points in this fixture.

It has been a good home run for the Pensioners so far recording two victories and one draw, and will be looking at continuing with this good record as they face ZESCO today.
