NAPSA LOSE TO GBFC IN A WEEK-12 MATCH

ANOTHER loss on the road for NAPSA Stars who this afternoon lost to Green Buffalos FC in their week-12 match of the MTN Super League.

But Coach Perry is still speaking highly of his boy’s performance despite the loss which saw NAPSA’s loss record so far going to four.

The Coach has also complained of the host’s delaying tactics which he says made the game frustrating for his side.

Coach Perry also added that his boys missed a lot of chances which cost them the three points to see the team drop to 10th position from eighth.

The coach accepted that the continuous loss of points was worrying, but was quick to add that he is hopeful results will soon start coming for his side.

“Today’s loss is very worrying, but it’s just a setback for us. We want to defend the ABSA cup by qualifying so we have a lot of work to do in the remaining matches starting with our Wednesday match against Chambishi,” Coach Perry adds.

It was the host side the issued an early threat in the 1st minute but Jackson Kakunta was too alert to deny them an early goal.

In the 17th minute, NAPSA Stars missed two chances through Augustin Mulenga and Austin Banda after having three consecutive corner kicks.

A goal could have come for NAPSA Stars in the 21st minute when Doisy Soko put in a great cross but Austin Banda struggled to connect despite being ahead of GBFC defense.

Finally, the missed chances came to cost the Pensioners with Golden Mashata winning a penalty for Green Buffalos in the 31st minute to see Felon Sitonya convert for the host side to take their lead.

Despite taking dominance of the second half, the Pensioners were punished to another goal which came in the 72nd minute through a John Kosamu strike who benefited from a Jackson Kakunta parried ball.

Kakunta was making his debut for the Pensioners.

The visitors would be afforded an opportunity to get a late consolation goal in the dying moments with Enock Sabumukama’s well taken shot being denied by Silavwe.

The loss has taken NAPSA Stars 10th on the log after 12 games played.

The Perry Mutapa Coached side host Chambishi at Heroes Stadium on Wednesday for their week-13 match.
