NAPSA PARTNERS WITH ACC TO SENSITIZE PLAYERS & OFFICIALS ABOUT SPORTS CORRUPTION

The National Pension Scheme Authority (NAPSA), through its Integrity Committee, partnered with the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) and organized a workshop for NAPSA Stars Football Club on Thursday morning to sensitize the team about corruption.

The event which was held at NAPSA Sports Complex focused more on corruption in sports, and covered areas like sports betting, which is a prohibited activity for players and officials in sports.

The players were taken through the effects of corruption in the development of sports at both individual and group level.

The ACC, represented by Chitundu Bwalya a Senior Prevention Officer, also educated the players about the types of corruption, how to prevent the scourge and its consequences among other topical matters.

And Club Chairman John Chundu added that corruption has negative effects in sports and applauded the ACC for sensitizing the players about corruption.

“Sport Supposed to be enjoyed not to be influenced by these vices that we see like corruption, so this is important for the club and we thought that it was a point where we bring in the players and technical bench for them to understand the vices and make sure it does not take root at NAPSA Stars,” John Chundu said.

The workshop was also attended by NAPSA Stars management and members of the media.
