PENSIONERS DRAW IN THEIR LAST MATCH TO FINISH THE LEAGUE 5TH.

NAPSA Stars Football Club came from two goals behind to equalize in their last match of the MTN Super League played against Prison Leopards FC which ended 2-2 at President Stadium in Kabwe last Saturday.

The result saw the Perry Mutapa-drilled side maintain their record of not losing to Prison Leopards FC in four of their meetings.

And Coach Perry says he is happy with the team’s performance this season, especially in this match, stating that everyone showed character to pick up a draw away after coming from behind.

The coach also added that the team managed to fight for what they agreed for at the start of the season, stating that next season will be another challenge to contest for honors.

The coach has also advised his boys to take enough rest during pre-season to come back fresh for the next season which is expected to commence in August.

NAPSA Stars conceded a goal as early as the second minute when Keegan Zulu handled the ball to see the host awarded a penalty by referee Trywell Mwape.

David Obashi made no mistakes and scored to give Prison Leopards the lead before Junior Zulu added another goal in the 11th minute for see the hosts extend the lead.

In the 22nd minute, the Pensioners pulled one back through Fredrick Mwimanzi spot kick after Boster Siyoma was brought down inside the box by Freddie Mushindi.

Boster Siyoma scored his first goal for NAPSA Stars, equalizing in the 42nd minute to see the two teams share spoils.

The result saw NAPSA Stars FC finish the league fifth on the log with 51 points after 34 matches played.

The team ended the season scoring 40 goals and conceding 26 goals.
