PENSIONERS IN SEARCH FOR VICTORY WITH A WARRIOR’S TEST

NAPSA Stars Football Club take a short trip out of town to face Kabwe Warriors in a match week 26 of the MTN Super League.

Coming from a rough February where the team failed to pick up maximum points, the Perry Mutapa-drilled side will be looking at fighting for maximum three points in this match.

It has been a tough battle recording victories on the road for NAPSA Stars who have only registered one victory away to Nkwazi FC.

Match Review and Form guide

With only nine games remaining to conclude this campaign, the Pensioners will aim to strengthen their stay in the Super League but will first have to go past a rejuvenated Warriors side in today’s match.

Warriors have been a team to look out for under the tutelage of Numba Mumamba who has guided the team out of the relegation zone since joining the Kabwe based side.

Only three points separate these two sides with NAPSA Stars sitting on an unsafe 10th position while Kabwe Warriors are breathing hot in Pensioners ears with a pending three points to get past the Perry Mutapa drilled side.

However, it is clear that this will not be an easy battle especially that both sides are coming from recording draws in their previous fixtures.

Team News

Coach Perry has indicated how important this match is for his side stating that a victory is all that his side need’s especially with their aim of stabilizing in the top flight.

Unfortunately, the team will be without the services of two key players this afternoon in defensive midfielder Dickson Chapa and forward Augustine Mulenga.

Chapa was booked for a red card in the previous fixture while Augustine Mulenga will equally be missing from coach Perry’s line- up today after picking up an injury in the last match.

Head-to-Head

In the last 10 meetings since 2016, NAPSA Stars has enjoyed some dominance over Warriors, recording four victories while Warriors has recorded two over NAPSA Stars. The other four fixtures have ended in draws.

Their last meeting however saw NAPSA Stars narrowly beat Warriors with a Sabumukama strike when the Kabwe based side was being coached by Coach George Lwandamina.
