PENSIONERS IN SEARCH OF SUPER LEAGUE QUALIFICATION

The Pensioners are out to search for three important points this afternoon as the host Young Green Eagles FC in a week-32 match of the Eden National Division One League. 

A victory in today’s match will see the Pensioners bounce back to the Super League after a season of being in Division One, with two games to spare. 

And with only two slots up for grabs for the Super League qualification, Coach Perry Mutapa has urged his boys to take today’s match as a Cup final and fight for three points.

And today’s match will be an interesting one with coach Perry having a vast of options to pick from with the return of David Odhiambo and Austin Banda who had suffered injuries.

The Coach will clearly also have a hard time picking his starting 11 with everyone in the team fighting to earn a place to start in every match.

Napsa Stars are coming from winning three of their last matches and will be hoping to continue with the winning momentum especially with how important today’s match is for this Perry Mutapa’s coached side.

The Pensioners are third on the log with 56 points, four points behind second placed FC MUZA, six points better than fourth placed Nchanga Rangers and seven points better than fifth placed Mighty Mufulira Wanderers FC.

Young Green Eagles FC on the other hand are seventh on the log with 45 points going into today’s match.

The two teams met in the first round of the league and battled to a 1 all draw at Khosa Stadium in Kafue.

Meanwhile today’s match is set for 15hours at Woodlands Stadium in Lusaka.
