PENSIONERS SEEK REDEMPTION AFTER THREE STRAIGHT LOSSES

NAPSA Stars Football Club is in desperate search for a victory as they visit Nchanga Rangers FC in a match week-14 of the MTN Super League.

With only four matches to conclude the first half, the Pensioners who are 12th on the log, will be looking at nothing but maximum points if they have to continue keeping alive, their hopes of finishing the first half in top six.

The Perry Mutapa coached side traveled to the Copperbelt yesterday ahead of this match set for Nchanga Stadium in Chingola.

In a pre-match interview, Coach Perry stressed the need for his side to collect the much needed maximum points in this match to give the team morale going into the other matches.

The team has struggled to win a match since their week-10 match which saw them beat Kabwe Warriors by a goal to nil.

Coach Perry has however acknowledged that Nchanga will not be an easy team to beat especially playing them in their own backyard.

The host have had a good record at home in the league so far.

“They are not an easy team to beat at home, but obviously we also want maximum points looking at the past three results that we have recorded,” Coach Perry adds.

NAPSA Stars are coming from recording three straight losses seeing them stuck on 16 points from week 10.

MATCH OVERVIEW AND TEAM FORM

NAPSA Stars are coming from recording their third loss in a row after losing to Chambishi at Heroes Stadium in their last match.

The Perry Mutapa-drilled side has 16points from the 13 games played recording four wins, four draws and five losses.

Nchanga Rangers on the other hand are 11th on the log with a point better than NAPSA Stars coming into this match.

The Chingola based team is coming from recording a loss against current log leaders Power Dynamos FC in their last match.

And this match will be played without spectators following a ban of spectators by the FAZ disciplinary committee

The Pensioners will again be without the services of Captain Luka Banda who has been out on National Duty.

David Odhiambo is also out of this fixture owing to an injury picked up in a match played against Chambishi last Wednesday.

Goalkeeper Rodwell Mukwanya is also still out owing to injury.

HEAD-TO-HEAD

Both NAPSA Stars and Nchanaga Ranger are coming from the National Division one league after finishing 3rd and 4th respectively.

In the Division One league, Rangers pulled a double over NAPSA stars recording a 3-2 and 1-0 result.
