PENSIONERS SET FOR GRADUATION AS THEY PLAY THEIR LAST NATIONAL DIVISION ONE MATCH THIS AFTERNOON

THE Pensioners play their last match of the Eden National Division One League this afternoon when they visit Gomes FC at Dola Hill Stadium.

It has been an exciting season for NAPSA Stars who have managed to achieve both goals set of clinching Super League qualification and winning the 2022 ABSA Cup title.

The team has played a season in Eden National Division One after participating in Continental Football in their previous season.

NAPSA Stars qualified in their week 33 match after beating Trident FC by two goals to zero. The Perry Mutapa Coached team also beat Super League Champions Red Arrows FC by a goal to nil in their ABSA Cup final match played at Nkoloma Stadium.

Meanwhile, Coach Perry Mutapa is looking at bagging a victory in today’s match in order to finish the League on a high.

The Coach has traveled to Ndola with his strong 21-man squad all in high spirit and ready to finish the Eden League in style this afternoon.

Team Captain Luka Banda has urged his teammates to take today’s game seriously and win it at all cost.

“We are coming from beating a big team and it would not sit well with us losing this match because we can fight today just like we fought in the last match,” Banda says.

Defender Gift Zulu adds that the team has prepared well and will go into this match with no pressure after achieving the goals set for the season

Midfielder Chanda Mushili adds that the team is looking at finishing on a high and have prepared well for this encounter.

And defender Amos Simwanza says the team has prepared adequately for the game and looking at nothing but a victory to help boost morale for the next season in the Super League.

Meanwhile, in the first round of the season, Gomes FC beat NAPSA Stars by a goal to nil.

The pensioners are third on the log with 63 points going into this match and will be looking at winning with a lot of goals to see them finish second on the log depending on how second placed FC MUZA performs in their match.

Gomes on the other hand are 10th on the log with 42 points and confirmed their stay in the Eden National League for next season.
