Coming into this match, The Pensioners were in search of their third victory to maintain their winning momentum after a great week-six outing which saw the Perry Mutapa coached side win by three goals to nil.

But after that victory, NAPSA Stars had a week of rest with their week-seven opponets, Zesco United being involved in a CAF competition match.

It was NAPSA Stars that issued their first warning, with sensational midfielder Austin Banda who had a great shot at goal in the 16th minute, but had his effort saved by Kansanshi goalkeeper Philip Kasauta.

The Pensioners kept the pressure on the home side with an aggressive pressing game, but missed a number of chances with another notable one coming in the 83rd minute through another Austin Banda shot that was parried off by Sakauta.

A point picked up against Kansanshi sees NAPSA Stars 12th on the log with nine points after seven games played.

And in his post-match interview, Head Coach Perry Mutapa said it was a painful result especially that his side created so many chances, but was quick to add that a point away from home was not a bad result for his side.

The coach also added that his players struggled to play their usual passing game owing to a bad state of the pitch which saw him protect most of them by changing his usual starting 11.

“We have to push in the next match, it won’t be easy playing Zesco United, but we were a little bit cautious today because of the bumpy pitch that we used. We will plan for the next match,” Coach Peery added.
